Which Tower of London Ticket Should You Choose?

What to check before booking Tower of London tickets

Know whether Crown Jewels access is part of your chosen visit

The Crown Jewels are included with the standard entry ticket and the Beefeater-guided tour shown here. Some early-access experiences are centred on the opening ceremony instead, while others specifically combine early entry, a guide and Crown Jewels access. Read the selected option carefully rather than assuming every ceremony-focused visit follows the same itinerary.

Live guide, Beefeater guide or audio guide?

Guided formats are not interchangeable. A Beefeater tour gives you commentary from a Beefeater guide, while other experiences use a live guide as part of a broader early-access, evening or London sightseeing itinerary. The opening ceremony audio-guide option is designed for a more independent visit after its introduction. Choose the format that matches how much structured commentary you want.

Do not confuse a Tower visit with a river cruise

Some bookings combine Tower entry with a Thames cruise, but a river tour departing from the Tower of London is not itself an admission ticket. If entering the fortress is essential to your plans, select an option that explicitly includes Tower of London entry. The same distinction applies to wider London tours: they may build a full sightseeing itinerary around the Tower rather than offering a simple standalone visit.

Choose a ceremony experience for the event, not just the entry time

Opening ceremony and Ceremony of the Keys visits are special formats with a particular focus. Early-access experiences take place around the Tower’s opening ceremony, whereas the guided night visit is built around after-hours access and the Ceremony of the Keys. These are distinct experiences, so choose according to the ceremony you want to attend and whether you prefer a daytime or evening visit.

Check the booking details that shape your visit

• Entry type: confirm that Tower admission is included if that is your main goal.
• Guidance: decide whether you want independent exploration, an audio guide, a Beefeater guide or another live guide.
• Additional sights: combination tours may add a cruise, a walking tour or another landmark, changing the focus of the day.
• Visit timing: early-access and after-hours experiences are designed around specific ceremonies rather than a standard independent visit.

Tower of London ticket prices: what should you compare?

Standard admission, Beefeater guided tour and Early ceremony entry do not include the same access, guidance or extras. Compare the current price shown for your date only after checking what each option covers.

A lower-priced ticket is not automatically better value if it excludes an area, guided visit or added experience that matters to you.
